A little piece of history

Open since September 2012, LE 1837 wasn't always a 4-star tourist residence.

Until 2010, it was the Saint-Jean-Baptiste primary school: a private Catholic school founded by the Congregation of the Brothers of Saint John Baptist de la Salle.

This project to create a Catholic school in Saint-Affrique dates back to 1837! Now you know all about it… but not the most unusual part!

You are, in fact, witnessing a happy union between a family from Aveyron, in love with their beautiful region, and a 19th-century building. The result of this union: a fully renovated 4,500 m² complex on a estate of over 2 hectares.

You will still find traces of the past with the chapel, the grotto of Our Lady in the park, and a few decorative elements scattered throughout the property!

Today, LE 1837, our charming hotel, which combines comfort and service, offers upscale amenities and 36 fully equipped apartments, accommodating from 1 to 6 people depending on the type of accommodation, and a wide range of self-service facilities.
